Oats are high in
fiber, which is good for digestion, but aside from that, its type of fiber is called beta-glucan which is known to help reduce “bad” cholesterol levels. Oats are also packed with magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, selenium, and zinc.
Studies have also shown that eating oats can help reduce certain heart problems, reduce the risk of colorectal cancer, and help lower blood pressure.
Eating cereal, on the other hand, also comes with a handful of health benefits. Not just for adults, cereal is proven to be very good for children. People who eat cereal, especially for breakfast, are known to have a healthier body weight, have low cholesterol levels, and are less likely to suffer from chronic diseases. In addition, eating cereal can also lead to lower “bad” cholesterol and more “good” cholesterol.
With all of these health benefits, both children and adults should make it a habit to start their day with oats and cereal for breakfast.
