It is a difficult task to feed children dark leafy green
vegetables. These sorts of vegetables are not at all popular among
children and are often hated for either their looks or their taste;
however, dark leafy green vegetables are essential in one’s diet, more
so when it comes to children. Here are the reasons why children should
have them in their diet.
Dark leafy greens are
important sources of various vitamins such
as A, C, E, K, and several complex-B vitamins that are all important for
the body, especially for children since their bodies are continuously
undergoing development. In addition to those vitamins, they also contain
antioxidants, carbohydrates, fiber, and protein.
Children with autism or ADHD can also greatly benefit from dark
leafy green vegetables as helps address these problems by improving
digestion and counteracting the effects of toxic problems which often
give rise to those health conditions.
Examples of dark leafy greens are collards, broccoli, kale,
mustard greens, turnip greens, spinach, and swiss chard. An easy way of
including these in children’s diet is through soups, smoothies, and even
roasting them, which makes for great snacks.
